Unfortunately, General Practitioners are not trained nor indemnified to treat any dental problems including infection. If your own dentist is unable to assess your dental symptoms or provide prescriptions for pain relief or antibiotics today, then you will be required to contact the NHS emergency dental support on 111.

Sedation for scans
We are unable to prescribe sedatives for any procedure or scan being undertaken including MRI scans and dental procedures. If you feel you need sedation, please speak to the team undertaking the procedure or scan, as they are responsible for providing this if needed. Information Sheet
Delaying menstrual periods
Central Surgery has made a recent policy change regarding prescriptions of Norethisterone, the medication commonly used to delay menstrual periods.
Going forward, our practice will no longer prescribe Norethisterone or other medications for the purpose of postponing menstruation solely for travel or holiday-related reasons.
Norethisterone is a prescription medication with specific medical indications and is generally used to treat certain menstrual disorders when clinically appropriate. Our practice is committed to following guidelines that prioritise the safest and most effective use of medications based on medical necessity and evidence-based best practices.
Norethisterone will not be prescribed solely to delay periods for convenience, including for travel, holidays, or other non-medical reasons.
Norethisterone will still be prescribed when there is a medically valid indication, as determined by your healthcare provider.
If you are considering managing your menstrual cycle for travel or lifestyle reasons, please discuss over-the-counter options with your local pharmacist.
